Shakugan no Shana…Rewatch, Review, Bleach?

Posted in Anime, Manga, Shakugan no Shana on June 28, 2007 by darkdragon500

Okay so lately I’ve been watching Shana again because I was planning to make an AMV with Shana clips…probably won’t happen, but anyways I’m enjoying the DVD rips nicely. I have yet to see any difference from the TV rips and DVD both in quality and scenes, but I guess the DVD rips have a bit more fanservice? I don’t really notice much change. I’ve already got up to episode 12-13 area and I’m very happy to see Shana getting a second season and very excited to see the movie once subs are out.

In other news Anime News Network reviews the manga if not the manga itself is seen as a ripoff of Bleach. Now…lets get one thing straight. Shana is NOWHERE IN HELL like Bleach. The reviewer explains how it is talking about dead and living and bah bah bah….okay first….Yuji is not exactly dead. He is dead in the sense that his life was eaten and now exist as a torch which is created to act as a protection to prevent the dislocation of the world from being turned into chaos. In Bleach…Ichigo isn’t dead…he just gains power of a Shinigami from Rukia who wouldn’t even be considered dead…Also the reviewer ignores the whole story-telling of the whole Flame Haze and Guze and all that stuff that makes up Shana. I feel like the reviewer (regardless of it being a “professionally written one) failed to see how good Shana can be and the story of it by thinking that terms being thrown left and right during battles is a bad thing and pretty much thinking it is Bleach. I swear that dude is burned by Shana’s fire…

Upcoming Games. (Interesting to me)

Posted in Melty Blood: Act Cadenza, Super Robot Wars Original Generation, Video Games on June 20, 2007 by darkdragon500

Okay so I went around play-asia to look up Super Robot Wars Original Generation for PS2 (releasing on June 28th 2007) to see the prices and I came across another link to the upcoming release of Melty Blood Act Cadenza Version B.

For SRW: OG I’ve been looking forward to this release since it was announced. I’m very excited and I’m planning to actually order this one (instead of “obtaining” a copy via internet). The game is roughly 60-70 USD for ordering from Play-Asia and doesn’t have anything else aside from the game and all. Oh well I’ll probably get my friend to help me order it.

MB: AC Ver B for PC will be released in July on the 27th of 2007. There will be two editions released. A limited edition and a normal edition. From Play-Asia it will cost roughly 80 USD for Limited and 60 USD for Normal. I don’t know what the difference is and nothing was stated (probably on the official site, but I can’t read moonspeak -.-). People who follow Melty Blood might remember a demo of version B for the PC being released, but now we officially have proof that it will be released for the PC.

Links to the official sites. Please buy these games and support the company (or mooch off the internet). Sorry, but these sites are in Japanese. Feel free to translate them using online translators if you’d like. Visit Play-Asia for details on the games (regardless of how much/little they have)

I have withstood many loli…

Posted in Anime, CardCaptor Sakura, Sky Girls, Today in Class 5-2 on June 19, 2007 by darkdragon500

Alright I’m actually somewhat slowly getting back into the habit of updating (not like I ever had one to begin with…) SO! lets get this thing over with…Its late and I’m tired. Alright with that said I bring to you…CardCaptor Sakura…Again…AND! the finishing of Kyou no Go no Ni! (otherwise known as Today in Class 5-2).

CardCaptor Sakura: Alright today I will be doing my review of the 2nd and LAST! movie along with the video diary specials. Lets start with the specials. They aren’t anything special, just kind of cute to watch except for the 2nd special which actually dealt with the story. As for the movie…Well lets just say I thought it was a piece of shit on a stick, but it really isn’t. I felt that the movie was kind of good and yet bad at the same time. Here’s why…First the movie mainly concentrated on the whole Sakura X Li thing and didn’t get to any actual action till the last maybe 20-30 minutes of the movie. Secondly the ending was very disappointing. No I’m definitely glad that everything worked out between Li and Sakura, but I felt like there could be SOOO much more of an ending than just what was in the movie. I’d love to see more to CCS, but the series was long enough and it took me forever to finish (sigh) Guess my only hope is Tsubasa Chronicles now … Anyways the movie itself isn’t all that bad aside form the stuff I stated already. I really liked it and I just love Sakura’s character (yes I know I’m a guy and saying this…What? I can’t like Shoujo-type anime/manga?) not to mention the whole anime had great character design. Overall though I’m somewhat sad that its over (or was over a long time ago.) I just wished there was some way to just continue the story with a better ending…like Sakura and Li actually doing something…I guess its all up to doujin circles to create stuff (which of course are already out in markets or the internet…)

Today in Class 5-2: Okay I finished the last episode today (because it was released subbed today) and I really enjoyed the OVA. I mean it was short, funny and had fanservice (okay fine and loli … happy?). I really want to find the manga translated somewhere now or hope that there’s more later on in the future. I don’t have the characters stuck in my head yet, but I’ll probably rewatch it because it was so short and funny. I just loved the random fanservice of 5th graders (I SWEAR I AM NOT A FUCKIN’ PEDO!).

Sky Girls: This was not intended to be in the post originally, but while I’m writing this I decided…what the hell. So I actually got to watch the Sky Girls OVA!. Yes more loli action… a pedo is I…okay I get the point. Anywho the OVA was nice. I really liked the art and the characters were quite unique…I can’t remember their names either (forgive me okami-sama). I’m actually greatful that the OVA had action in it. I can’t wait till the TV series release of it. Looking forward to more loli-ness!

Alright that concludes my ramble of the day! I don’t know why, but I’ve been watching too many loli-type series. I mean there’s Hayate and I need to catch up on Nanoha StrikerS and also I’m planning to get the DVD files of Shakugan no Shana, Zero no Tsukaima, and Nanoha both A’s and original. Well until next time~

~Kevin~

P.S. I am seriously not a pedo! I swear this just happens! I mean…I can’t help it if its too moe and/or kawaii that I give in to the power that is the loli of anime … gomen …. kami-sama ….

Tsukuyomi ~Moon Phase~ & CardCaptor Sakura & 3rd Naruto Movie!

Posted in Anime, CardCaptor Sakura, Naruto, Tsukuyomi ~Moon Phase~ on June 17, 2007 by darkdragon500

Alright everyone! I am here after going into withdrawal due to lack of anime because of my available hard drive space, but now I’m back! Well I was able to catch up on Naruto and Bleach, but I won’t get into those because they don’t deserve the space. Anyways I’ve finished up Tsukuyomi ~Moon Phase~ and CardCaptor Sakura as well as the 3rd Naruto movie. And here we go!

3rd Naruto Movie: First lets get started with the 3rd Naruto movie! We start this movie before the time-skip, but after everyone starts training. Movie is based around Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi and Lee. Following this kid named Hikaru and his father Manchiru. The movie itself was really bad and the only good parts were the second to last and last battles. The movie ended with a stereotypical Naruto ending…a variation of a Rasengan. The Rasengan like….turned purple like the moon and all…it was pretty lame. I really can’t talk about the movie that well just because I didn’t enjoy it regardless of how good everyone said it was. Some animation glitch in the ending during credits. We don’t see Naruto’s Kyuubi seal, so yeah. Also why Lee’s face was red in the last battle is confusing to me…and also Sakura and Naruto were as lame as they usually were. Oh well…we can hope for the better in the next movie.

CardCaptor Sakura: After 70 fuckin’ episodes I finally finished it. The series as a whole was really good, but what really annoyed me was how Clow Reed/Eriol is a sick twisted ass. We learn during the Sakura Card Arc that Eriol is Clow Reed’s incarnation and that he created events that would require Sakura to use a certain card and change that card into her own to use it. The series contained both yaoi and yuri as well as teacher-student relationships and loli. I don’t know why but Sakura’s character design is actually relevant to my liking…and no I am not lolicon…Anywho the series was damn long, but good none-the-less. Worth watching and especially if you like stuff from CLAMP.

Tsukuyomi ~Moon Phase~: All I can say is….Nekomimi….The series was pretty nice…Animation was weird at points and the ending seemed like it was just randomly shat out in a rush to finish the series. Hazuki-chan is definitely the moe character of the series with her tsundere personality. I’ve read the first two volumes of the manga and I’m hoping to get the rest of the series because the anime was pretty good. Not amazing, but definitely a fun watch. Hazuki-chan…..nekomimi mode….uhnya~

Well thats all I’ve been doing. I’ve watched the Shakugan no Shana movie and 2nd season trailer and I am fuckin’ pumped for the upcoming movie (that is set to be out this Thursday the 21st?) and also the 2nd season which will be released during the Fall Season. I can’t wait!!

Time to catch up on everything I’ve missed from last year’s Summer Season till now! Until next time~

REC Vol 1 *kind of* (Scanlations from [XLG])

Posted in Manga, REC on June 4, 2007 by darkdragon500

Alright so I just got the scanlations to REC a few minutes ago. Had some time to skim through a bit and I must say…I’ve forgotten how much I loved Aka. The manga really brings out the story more than the anime (of course the anime was only 9 episodes long and was damn good for that many episodes). The manga contains nudity, which is fine by me, but I just wish they’d had a more longer series in the anime. I felt like the anime needed to be longer instead of 9 episodes. The manga is good though. I definitely enjoy it and really hope a company like Del-Rey picks this series up. I have not seen Seven-Sea so I don’t know how well they do. I don’t mind VIZ picking it up if they do well on it. DrMasterBooks did a good job on Tsukihime, but I doubt they’ll pick up REC.

REC is probably my favorite quick watch next to Triangle Hearts. It deals with a pretty comical love story and best of all Aka is so cute its hard not to love the plot…or Aka. Anyways I don’t know if Aka is 16 or 20 because I recall her saying she was 16 in the anime while in the manga she said she was 20. I don’t know. All I know is I might have a fanboy moe kawaii explosion due to Aka soon. I mean the story mainly focuses on Aka and Matsumoto (which is fine) so its kind of hard not to love Aka and how she deals with some situations. She’s innocent and possibly shy…although she does show aggression…maybe to Matsumoto only. I can’t wait to actually read all of Vol 1 and see how good the manga actually is, but from what I know I’m loving it already (mmm Aka in the shower…) >.>”

P.S. Sorry for unorganized post like always.

Update? WHAT THE HELL?

Posted in General on June 1, 2007 by darkdragon500

Okay I know I haven’t updated this in SO long and I’m EXTREMELY sorry on this. My life is slowly being taken over by end-of-school exams and StarCraft. I’ve fallen behind on my anime schedule and its driving me insane. I’ve read a few more mangas here and there and really my whole life in the anime world has been screwed up the arse (assuming anime is a physical thing with an ass).

Due to my lack of updates I’ll tell you whats been going on.

A few weeks ago I somehow was extremely sick/allergies got the best of me.

Before that I’ve been watching only Naruto and Bleach from time to time on youtube. Watching Hayate no Gotoku and Negima?! also and halted everything else.

I’ve read my manga collection that I’ve been building since the con and I’ve read

-Hayate no Gotoku Vol 1
-Tsukihime Vol 1 and 2
-Neon Genesis Evangelion Vol 1
-Tsukuyomi ~Moon Phase~ Vol 1 and 2
-Negima! Vol 1 and 2
-School Rumble Vol 3
-Shakugan no Shana Vol 1

And I’m currently reading Hayate no Gotoku Vol 2 and School Rumble Vol 5.

My hard drive needs to be cleaned out, my life is slowly being consumed by exams, stress, 4chan *cough*, StarCraft, Internet, and procrastination.

I did manage however to watch the Densha Otoko movie and the Death Note live-action (first movie).

Densha Otoko was a very good movie in my opinion, although I don’t like “Herms” or whatever compared to the series (I have yet to see the series). The Death Note movie was good. Although I have yet to finish the anime and I don’t/didn’t read the manga.

I’m really glad that there is still activity going on around this thing regardless of how less I post. I would really enjoy if people would comment and all even though this isn’t amazing or anything.

Thank you to all the readers/visitors who have entered/read anything from here. Or mooched. Whatever works.
